Do you want to go to the party with him?
[[Respond yes.|yesParty]]
You decide to go to the party.
After all, might as well spend a Friday night with your friends rather than spend it alone watching Netflix.

Chelsea: Fine, Claire ditched me anyways.

[[On second thought... nevermind.|joshParty2]]
[[Go to the party with Chelsea.|chelseaParty2]]You decide Chelsea's kind of rude.
Josh is definitely the better option.
You text back Josh to let him know.

Josh: Do you want me to pick you up?
Could you please?
Josh: Yep, no problem! I'll be over at 5 p.m.?

Actually, no thank you. I'll be taking a ride from Josh.
Chelsea: Oh, boo. Guess I'll ask someone else more fun.

Looks like it's settled, then. You'll be going with Josh to the party.
You should probably go get dressed into some clothes better suited for a party, considering you're still wearing the casual clothes you wore to school.
[[Get Dressed.|joshParty3]]You decide to go with Chelsea to the party.
Huh, you should probably text back Josh. It would be rude to not let him know.

Oh, thanks for the offer, but I think Chelsea's going to take me instead.
Josh: Oh, no worries. Guess I'll see you at the party?
Yep, see you then!

From the sound of it, Chelsea isn't going to wait for you.
You should probably go and get dressed before she arrives.
[[Get dressed.|chelseaParty3]]You quickly put on a better looking t-shirt and some new pants.
You check your phone to see the time.
It's 5:05 p.m.
Oh, god, no! Josh said he would pick you up at 5 p.m.
You see some new notifications.

2 Notifications from Josh:

You grab your stuff and run out the door.
"Sorry to make you wait! I just finished getting dressed."
"Haha, don't worry about it $name. I just got here a few minutes ago. Also, the party doesn't start until 6, so we have some time to kill until then." Josh smiles.
"Oh, thank god."
You open up the door and sit yourself down.
"Don't forget your seatbelt," Josh reminds you.
"Oh, right, my seatbelt. Got it on."
"You ready to leave?" He asks.
"Yep, thanks for driving me."
"Anytime."
He steps on the gas, and you're on your way.
[[Go to the party.|joshParty4]]You quickly pull a shirt over your head and wear your shoes.
Can't keep Chelsea waiting, after all, or she'll leave you behind.
\*Honk.*
\*Honk.*
\*Honk. Honk.*
\*Hoooooooonk.*
Looks like she's here.
You grab your stuff and run out the door.
"Hey, thanks for the ride," you call out. Chelsea doesn't look at you.
"Get in."
You pull open the car door, and sit yourself down. She slams the gas barely a second after you closed the door.
Better buckle up.
[[Strap in for a tough car ride.|chelseaParty4]]You and Josh arrive at the party without a hitch. You're early, in fact.
It's not a problem, the host lets you in early. You and Josh help spread out some paper plates, plastic cutlery, and get the beer out of the fridge.
"Beer?" you ask.
"Yeah, makes the party a little more fun," the host answers.
"Oh, okay...?"
"What, you've never had any or something?" the host asks.
"Why would I have had beer?" you look at the host, confused. You look at Josh.
"Well, most kids these days..." the host trails off. "Do you want to try some?" You look at Josh to see what you should do. He shrugs.
"Not my style, but you could try if you want. I'd prefer to stay sober, thanks," Josh tells you.
The host looks at you. "If you don't want beer, I have some wine too."
What will you do? Will you accept the alcohol?
[[No thank you.|noDrinkJoshParty]]
[[Sure, I'll try some. What's the harm?|yesDrinkJoshParty]]
You both arrive safely at the party. Somehow.
Must be a miracle, you tell yourself.
Chelsea hops out the car.
"Chelsea!" you yell out.
"What?!" she yells back angrily.
"You didn't put the car in park!"
"Oh, woops." Chelsea hops back in, puts the car in park, and hops back out. "What are you waiting for? Get out, already!" She slams her car door, shaking the entire car.
You're convinced it was a miracle you got here safely.
You hop out of the car and follow Chelsea inside.
"What's up my dude?" She asks the host. "Aw man, where's the music?" She frowns.
"It's not set up yet. You're early, for the first time ever." The host smirks. "You can go set it up if you want."
"Hey, $name. You're good at tech stuff, right? Can you connect the speakers to my phone?" Chelsea asks you.
"It's not that hard-"
"Just do it." She interrupts you.
You get the music started as people start to trickle in.
Looks like the party is just getting started.
[[Time to party!|chelseaParty5]]"Err... no thank you. No alcohol for me." You look uncomfortably at Josh, and he pulls you over to the side.
"Look, I'm sorry." Josh says.
"Huh?" you ask.
"I didn't know there would be alcohol here," he whispers. "I've decided to leave this party, but you can stay if you'd like. If you want to go home... I can drive you."
What will you do?
[[Leave the party and hang out with Josh.|leaveJoshParty]]
[[Stay at the party without Josh.|stayJoshParty]]"I guess a sip can't hurt." You answer. The host smiles and hands you a can of beer.
You open it with a satisfying pop noise and take a sip.
"Doesn't taste too shabby." You announce. You decide to take a few more sips.
"You don't have to drink it so fast-" Josh tries to warn you.
"Thanks, Josh, but don't worry about me. I'm sipping it about as fast as I drink a soda," you interrupt.
Josh sighs. "I was planning on leaving once I saw the alcohol, but I can't in good concscience leave you alone now. Just don't drink too much, okay?"
Though you heard Josh, you can't help but drink more as the music gets louder, people trickle in, and the party becomes livelier.
Your senses are slowly getting worse, and it's difficult to see properly.
Your hearing, however, is still fine.
Josh looks at you. "You should stop drinking. You look like a mess, and it's your first time. No need to blackout- it doesn't make you any cooler or more popular."
You shush him. "I hear something."
"Yes, $name. We all hear things. There's music blasting and people yelling over each other." He pries the alcohol away from you.
"No, seriously. I hear something. Listen."
Josh tries to listen to everything around him. You both hear a few voices:
"Come on, it's only one drink."
"What, you're too scared to drink some alcohol?"
"You can already vote. Why can't you just take a sip of alcohol?"
"It's not like you'll blackout after one sip, you know."
"I just can't! I won't! I refuse to have alcohol."
You hear a crowd pressuring a kid into having some alcohol. He seems to be vehemently refusing, however.
"Ah, that must suck," Josh comments. "I don't want to get involved in that mess, though."
What will you do?
[[Stay out of the mess.|noStandUpJosh]]
[[Stand up for the kid.|yesStandUpJosh]]
"How about we both leave and hang out at a café or something?" you ask.
"I wouldn't mind that." He replies. "Sorry man, we've had a change of plans. Thanks for the invite, though." Josh explains to the host.
We both walk out, and step into Josh's car.
"To the café?"
"To the café," you confirm.
[[End.|leavePartyEnd]]You decide to stay at the party without Josh.
"Oh, thanks for the offer, but I think I'll stay," you reply.
The host makes a face. "If Josh leaves, you leave."
"Huh?" you look puzzled.
"Each invited guest can only bring one friend. If he's not staying, then you should leave with him."
Josh chimes in. "Surely you can make an exception-"
"No exceptions. I've always had this policy, and I'm not stopping it now."
Huh. You think about it. Is that why Chelsea was so reluctant to take you?
Oh, right! Chelsea! You could probably be her guest if you wanted.
"Is it okay if I'm another person's friend?" you ask.
"I don't care, as long as you're the only friend they're bringing." The host replies sternly.
What will you do?
[[Forget about the party, I hate this host. Ask Josh to take you home.|leaveJoshParty2]]

In the end, you decided to go to the party with Josh.
However, once you saw the alcohol, you declined and left the party with Josh.
Congratulations on making the safest decisions possible in this story.
You made no bad decisions, and had a fun, safe night.
Sometimes the least dramatic stories are the ones with the best outcomes.
[[Play again?|begin]]"On second thought, Josh, could you drive me home?"
"Sure thing." Josh glances at the host and makes a sour face. "Let's leave."
You get in the car and sigh as you put on your seatbelt.
"That guy was a jerk," Josh says.
"My thoughts exactly," you reply.
"Hey, I have an idea," Josh perks up. "Do you want to go to a restaurant or a café? I'm sure we'll have more fun there than this alcohol-fueled party, anyways."
You smile. "I'd like that."
[[End.|leavePartyEnd]]"Hold on a second, let me quickly text Chelsea."

Hey, could I be your friend for the party? You don't need to pick me up; I'm already here.
Chelsea: Oh, so now you want to go with me?
Puhhh-leaseee?
Chelsea: Oh, fine. Only because you asked so nicely.

"Chelsea said I could be her friend for the party," you announce.
"Oh, okay." Josh looks at you for a second, slightly sad. "Goodbye, I guess. See you on Monday?"
"See you on Monday," you reply.
Josh walks out the door, and you awkwardly stand in silence waiting for Chelsea to arrive.
Since you're so early, no one else is here yet.
Guess the only thing to do now is wait.
[[Wait for Chelsea|stayJoshParty3]]You wait for Chelsea to arrive, playing games on your phone in the meanwhile.
Your ears perk up as you hear the door open.
"Hey Chelsea, glad to see you could make it," the host yells.
"My pleasure to come. Where's $name?" she asks the host.
"Right over there, in the corner. They're a bit awkward and silent." The host states his opinion on you, which no one asked for.
"Yeah, and $name is always late when I pick them up. I should leave them behind some day."
No one asked for her opinion either. You sigh.
"What? You aren't glad to see me?" Chelsea puts her hand to her mouth and acts like she's shocked.
"No, my dear. I'm ecstatic to see you." You roll your eyes.
"You and your sarcasm... Anyways, let's go and set up some music to get this party started!"
You and Chelsea set up the music as people start trickling in.
The party is finally starting.
[[Time to party!|stayJoshParty4]]Chelsea runs over to the table with alcohol and opens a can of beer.
She takes a swig.
You stare as she downs the entire can of beer in under a minute. Or at least, you think it was less than a minute. It could've been a little over a minute, on second thought.
She wipes her face, and sees you staring.
"What, you've never seen someone drink can of beer before?" Chelsea asks. "Here, take one." She shoves a can into your hand.
Drink the beer?
[[I said no once, why would I choose yes now? Absolutely not.|noDrinkChelseaParty]]

[[No thank you.|noDrinkChelseaParty]]
[[Sure, I'll try some.|yesDrinkChelseaParty]]"No thanks, Chelsea." `
Chelsea whines. "Seriously? You're not going to have any alcohol? It's only a sip."
"Yeah, I don't want any. I'd prefer to remember this party, thanks."
"Come one, it's not like you'll pass out." Chelsea tries to convince you to drink some.
"Nope."
"Not even a sip from my can?" Chelsea looks at you with puppy eyes.
"I'm holding my ground." You stare into her eyes.
"Boo, what a bore. Have fun alone, then." Chelsea walks off, leaving you alone.
Being left alone, you try socializing with others, but it's incredibly difficult. When everyone else is drinking alcohol except for you, it feels like they're all part of an inside joke that only you don't understand.
Frustrated and tired, you walk outside for a breath of fresh air.
You want to leave, but you can't. Chelsea is your ride home.
Suddenly, you hear something from inside.
The kid getting pressured looks into your eyes, pleading for help.
[[Look away, ignoring him.|lookAwayChelseaParty]]
[[Go and help the kid.|helpKidChelseaParty]]"Hmm. I guess I'll try some." You respond. You open the can, and take a sip.
"That's the spirit," Chelsea says. She nods in approval.
You both chat about mundane matters as the time passes, occassionally dancing on the dance floor.
"I hear something," Chelsea announces.
"What do you-"
Chelsea interrupts. "Listen."
You hear a bunch of voices.
"Come on, it's only one drink."
"What, you're too scared to drink some alcohol?"
"You can already vote. Why can't you just take a sip of alcohol?"
"It's not like you'll blackout after one sip, you know."
"I just can't! I won't! I refuse to have alcohol."
It sounds like a crowd pressuring a kid into having some alcohol. He seems to be vehemently refusing, however.
"Oooo, a softie? Sounds like fun. Come on, $name, let's join in!"
Will you join Chelsea in further teasing the boy?
[[Yes, I'll join Chelsea. It's all fun and games.|bullyChelseaParty]]
[[No, absolutely not. I don't care if Chelsea hates me.|noBullyChelseaParty]]"Yeah, seems like a sticky situation. I'd rather not intervene," you agree.
You and Josh look at each other, clearly uncomfortable about the situation.
"Should we leave?" Josh asks.
"Yeah, it's getting late anyways. My mom is probably wondering where I am," you reply.
You both walk out of the party, but the thought of the boy that wouldn't drink alcohol lingers on your mind...
That could've been you, after all.
Before you could say anything, Josh steps on the gas. Looks like you're going home.
[[End.|noStandUpJoshEnd]]"If you think it sucks, then fix it!" You stomp your foot on the floor and charge on over to the scene.
In your mind, you look like a valiant knight saving a princess.
But you're not a knight.
And you're not saving a princess.
Let's not forget that you can't see straight.
You waddle on over to the scene and plant yourself between the boy that refuses to drink and the guys pressuring him.
"He... doesn't wan-" You fall over. The guys laugh.
Josh runs over and helps get you back on your feet. "Guys, just quit it. He doesn't want to drink, so what's your problem? Just leave him alone."
The guys begin mumbling amongst themselves. Not waiting for an answer, Josh holds your hand and the boy's hand, leading you both outside. He sighs. "I knew I should've made us leave earlier."
A minute passes in awkward silence.
"Looks like no one followed us." Josh relaxes.
"Er, thank you for-" the boy starts to speak.
"And you, why would you come to a party with alcohol if you don't want to drink?" Josh starts to chastise the boy.
"Maybe he didn't know!" You yell back at Josh.
"Oh, right... My bad. But you, $name, you went overboard with the drinks! I told you to stop earlier. I think it's time for us to go home." Josh turns to the boy. "Do you need a ride too?"
"Really? Thank you!"
"I'll take that as a yes." Josh sighs, but smiles.
[[End.|standUpJoshEnd]]In the end, you decided to go to the party with Josh.
However, once you saw the alcohol, you accepted and went overboard.
Though you made a bad choice by taking the alcohol, standing up for the boy was the correct decision.
Congratulations on making it to a happy end.
Be careful, though, the story doesn't always pan out this way.
[[Play again?|begin]]In the end, you decided to go to the party with Josh.
However, once you saw the alcohol, you accepted and went overboard.
On top of that, you decided to ignore the bullied boy.
Congratulations on being a bystander. You'll never know what happened to the boy- if he held his ground and continued to be bullied, or he gave into peer pressure and took a sip.
Who knows? Maybe if you decided to say something, not keep a silent voice you could have changed things.
[[Play again?|begin]]You break eye contact with the bullied boy, hoping to stay out of the mess.
All you want at this point is to leave this party.

"Hey, guys. Cut it out. It's not funny, nor cool." You speak up.
The look on the kid's face softens as he relaxes.
"Oh, look at $name, trying to be a knight in shining armor," a bully calls out.
"Sounds exactly right," you reply. Walking on over to the scene, you take the kid's hand and lead him out of the party. You figure the best way to defuse the situation is to walk away from it.
You sigh. You can't go back inside the party, or you'll be bullied along with the kid.
You need a ride home. You text Chelsea.

Can you take me home early? Something came up.
Chelsea: You mean saving that boy? I'm not getting involved with that.
Chelsea: I won't hear the end of it if I help you out.

Looks like you need some new friends.
"Uh, excuse me?"
"Yes?" You reply, bored.
"Thank you for that... can I do anything for you?" The kid asks you.
"Any chance you could drive me home?"
"Sure! It's the least I could do."
You smile at the kid. Looks like finding new friends won't be too hard.
[[End.|saveKidChelseaEnd]]"I don't know what he's talking about," you say.
You walk over to the table and open up a can of beer, taking a few gulps to show the people around you. "Not only does the kid not like alcohol, he's a liar too!" You try and shift the attention back onto him.
As you expected, the attention around you dies down and shifts back to the original kid. The attention on him intensifies as more and more people join in, making fun of him for not drinking alcohol. They call him crazy, a liar, and other things.
He runs out of the house, nearly in tears. The room erupts into laughter.
You feel slightly guilty (and slightly buzzed from the alcohol), but you convince yourself it was the right decision.
All that's left is to wait for Chelsea to take you back home.
What a night.
[[End.|denialChelseaEnd]]"I don't know what he's talking about."
Everyone continues to stare at you. It's pretty obvious you don't drink: no stammering, no swaying, no alcohol in-hand.
Oh no, you tell yourself.
Slowly, but surely, you're cornered along with the kid that was being bullied.
Contrary to his hopes, both of you are being bullied by the group, rather than focusing on you and letting him off.
Eventually, you manage to escape by running out, making sure to stay 2-3 blocks away from the host's house.
Tears run down your cheek as you text Chelsea.

In the end, you decided to go to the party with Chelsea.
However, once you saw the alcohol, you denied.
Though you made a good choice by refusing the alcohol, you chose to ignore a bullied kid's pleas for help. On top of that, you contributed to the bullying.
Congratulations on becoming a bully.

[[Play again?|begin]]You decided to attend the party with Chelsea.

[[Play again?|begin]]"Sure, I guess."
Chelsea drags you into the crowd of people, and you begin to chant with them.
"Drink it!"
"Drink it!"
"Drink it!"
You begin to understand why people act this way, why they choose to bully.
It makes a person feel powerful.
The boy stands his ground, refusing to drink alcohol.
The crowd laughs.
And you?
You laugh with them, even as the boy runs out in tears.
[[End.|bullyChelseaEnd]]"Er... no thank you. I think I'll sit out this one."
Chelsea makes a sour face. "Fine, be that way."
She joins the crowd, and they all bully the kid together. Not being able to stand the sight, you walk outside.
Could you have helped? No, you tell yourself. Though in your heart, you're sure you could've done something to help.
Interrupting your thoughts, the boy runs outside in tears. You hear the crowd laughing from inside.
You hang your head down in shame as he passes by you and gets into his car.
[[End.|bystanderChelseaEnd]]You decided to attend the party with Chelsea.

In the end, you were overwhelmed with guilt as you realize you could've done something. Perhaps if you weren't with Chelsea, or if you didn't drink the alcohol.
